Nelson Technology
From imagination to innovation.
Our Solutions
  1. 3D CAD Modelling and Drafting
Nelson Technology uses 3D CAD software to provide validated renderings that encompass design intent such as top down modelling, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information), manufacturability, DFMEA (Design Failure Modes Effects and Analysis), and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  2. FEA Simulation
One key aspect of the design process is geometric validation. Sometimes this can be achieved through iterative prototyping and destructive testing. Often times, it is more time and cost effective to use FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to simulate the life cycle and/or destructive test of a particular component or system. Simulations such as thermal, pressure, static/dynamic, fatigue, buckling, topology, and frequency analysis can validate a design before it goes to the protoyping and destructive testing phases.
  3. 3D Scanning
A 3D scan of both small and large components can be the first step in the design phase if a project doesn't have geometric data to build off of. 3D scanning can be a great tool for projects where traditional measuring methods are either too cumbersome, or too dangerous to implement. "As-built" manufacturing data and precision component validation are just a couple of examples of how advanced scanning technology can help overcome design challenges.
  4. Data Migration and File Conversion
It is often necessary to convert large quantities of files from one type of CAD software to another, whether due to a company merger, or due to a new selection in manufacturing and design software. Nelson Technology can achieve this through various software tools, coupled with our modelling/drafting knowledge.
